Preschool Tours and Enrollment

Do you have space for my child?
We offer a rolling enrollment. Please speak with our Director to confirm availability.

Can I bring my child in for the tour or a pre-enrollment visit?
We encourage you to do so! We want both you and your child to feel comfortable and happy about our program.

Does my child have to be potty trained to attend?
No, we do not require a child to be potty trained. We will work with your child in an encouraging and supportive environment. We understand that toilet training is a process, and when you are ready to begin that process our staff will work with you to continue the progress you are making at home.

We do ask that a child be potty trained before they enter our 3-4 year old class.

How does enrollment work?
When you are ready to enroll in our program, you can visit our preschool website and click our “request to register” form. This will start your registration process.

Preschool Schedule, Tuition, and Fees

What are your hours?
We are open from 7:00am - 6:00pm, Monday-Friday.

What is your holiday schedule?
We follow a modified version of the Bernards Township School District. Our calendar provides a complete list of holidays.

What are your fees?
We publish all of our tuition rates on our website. You can view the page here: http://sunshinepreschool.net/about/tuition.

What happens if I pick my child up late?
We ask that if you are going to be late, you call to let us know. We try to offer flexibility by offering a late pick-up until 6:00pm. If your child is not picked up by that time, we will need to charge a late fee.

Do I pay when we are on vacation?
Yes. Your payments are on a fixed monthly rate based on the tuition fee of your child’s program. Our costs are fixed and therefore, our tuition fees must be fixed as well.

Do you offer scholarships or sibling discounts?
Parents with more than one child may deduct 10% off the cost of each additional child attending Sunshine Preschool & Infant Care.

How and when do you bill us?
Tuition is posted at the beginning of each month to your family account. The monthly tuition is due on the 15th of the month for the following month. (Example: April’s tuition is due March 15th).

Tuition may be paid online through our parent portal or by a check dropped off at the school.

Parent Involvement in Preschool

Do you encourage visits from parents?
Absolutely. We want you to feel comfortable with your child’s daily experience. We will make every effort to accommodate your visit.

How do you communicate with parents?
We send out a monthly newsletter with information about all upcoming events and anything that parents might need to know. Each teacher sends out a weekly newsletter for their class. Additionally our infants and toddlers have daily reports for parents to see.

When you arrive for drop-off or pick up, you are welcome to speak with the director or office staff regarding any questions you may have. Anytime you feel the need to contact us, you are welcome to give us a phone call or send an email.

Do you hold parent/teacher conferences?
Once your child is in our preschool program we schedule twice a year conferences. All parents are welcome to setup a meeting with their child’s teacher or caregiver anytime throughout the year.

Preschool Health, Hygiene, and Safety

Must children be immunized in order to attend?
The state of New Jersey requires us to keep record of each child’s immunizations. If you refuse certain immunizations, you must provide a letter stating that you have a medical or religious reason for refusing those immunizations.

What is your sick child policy?
We are serious about providing a healthy and safe environment. Certain illnesses will prohibit a child from attending preschool until they have recovered completely. Please see the Parent Handbook for more information.

Are the doors secure so strangers cannot just walk in?
Our front door is locked and accessible by individual key code only. All of our doors are locked and equipped with alarms. Security cameras are in each classroom, and at the entrances/exits to the building.

Does the staff have emergency training?
Our staff is both CPR and First Aid certified.

How do you screen your staff?
Each staff member goes through a very thorough screening process, including both reference and background checks.
